Edson started playing at 16, teaching guitar and music theory by the time he was 19. He was invited by his instructors to teach in an important music school in a huge metropolitan area of Brazil in the early 1990s. His experience playing in Brazilian churches gave him versatility and sensibility in understanding different music styles and learning the importance of being knowledgeable in subjects such as harmony.
Playing in bands of funk-rock, hard rock and death metal, he came to the conclusion that to be a good musician is not enough, you also need to be a great performer as well.
With his band mates in Slyther, Edson balances improvising leads and respecting memorable moments of Rock'n Roll history, executing some iconic solos note by note. Edson is a journalist and with his wife Connie, owns a beautiful horse farm in Charles City, Virginia.
